(Red)emption - Week 3
We've just concluded week 3 in our (Red)emption campaign to raise funds and awareness for the Stephen Lewis Foundation for AIDS relief in Africa, and the numbers keep rolling along.
We hit a bit of a lull this week, as we expected we would, as our donors are increasingly coming from people we do not know. However, we are still very pleased with where we stand. We are almost a quarter of the way to our goal of 1000 people donating $10 to the Stephen Lewis Foundation! In fact, we have raised over $2,939 so far! But we’re not there yet!
If you have not made your donation, we need you! Today!
If you have made your donation, this is where we REALLY need your help! We need you to continue to pass the word to your friends and family to help us gather 1000 names. We are trying to raise awareness about the crisis situation in AIDS-stricken Africa and we can’t do it alone because, well, we don’t know everybody! We told you and you reacted by sending in your $10, now we need you to pass this along to your friends so they can participate. Look at it this way, Robert and I have gotten a couple of hundred people to send in $10 just by asking. All we need now is for each of you to find 3 more people! If each of you finds only 3 people, your mother, brother and best friend… Your father, your mailman and the guy at Starbucks! Or how about your aunt, your dry-cleaner and Donald Rumsfeld (since he’s available for coffee these days.)
Here's where we stand this morning:

(I see there's been no change this week in the country list. We really need to see some additions on the international side!)
Some of you may have seen reports in the media about disturbances in a particular North Toronto neighbourhood. I understand there is to be a special community meeting this weekend to determine if Robert is to be kicked off his street for soliciting door to door, and generally harassing his neighbours until they cough up $10.
That's the kind of persistence we like to see!
Remember: We have the power to act, and we can make a difference. We are the people we've been waiting for.

folks, I was at the ACC tonight to watch my beloved Habs get HAMMERED (just pounded) by the heinous Leafs. How 'bout a quick $10 to raise my spirits a bit?

It's good to see people excited about alternative initiatives. Thought you might appreciate our efforts at reinspired.blogspot.com.
