Mike,
I am deeply honored to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. This award is even more meaningful because I have the honor of sharing it with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change--the world's pre-eminent scientific body devoted to improving our understanding of the climate crisis--a group whose members have worked tirelessly and selflessly for many years. We face a true planetary emergency. The climate crisis is not a political issue, it is a moral and spiritual challenge to all of humanity. It is also our greatest opportunity to lift global consciousness to a higher level.
My wife, Tipper, and I will donate 100 percent of the proceeds of the award to the Alliance for Climate Protection, a bipartisan non-profit organization that is devoted to changing public opinion in the U.S. and around the world about the urgency of solving the climate crisis.
Thank you,
Al Gore

I don't want to interrupt the conversation on any of the Rocky posts (I,II,III,IV,V, etc.) and I know I am in the minority here as this blog is populated by disciples of a certain charismatic figure that you all naively believe to be divine.
I'm here to tell you that you've sadly placed your faith in the wrong guy... Bono. Most of you pray at the altar of U2 (and one of you has this kind of weird, mildly creepy man-crush on Bruce Cockburn but that's a whole other story) but I'm telling you all that as long as there's blood coursing through the veins of one Mister Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, the title of world's greatest band is filled.
That is all.

Jon and Steve - It's no biggie... I'm on a Live Earth email list.
Robert - How's that blog of yours coming along?!

while the endless loop repeats itself in the comments of that other post, let me just say:
Wes, it's on!
See you Wednesday night at Fenway and may the best team win!
Go Sox.
BTW, Mike yet another good call on the Indians.
And Heather, don't think I've forgotten that your team is sitting again this year, without so much as a manager to call their own... What was their name again?

I can't believe it...

So...we're not talking man-crushes anymore?
Posted by: david | October 21, 2007 at 10:22 PM
Why... do you have something you need to say?
Posted by: Mike | October 21, 2007 at 11:37 PM
not that there's anything wrong with that.
Mike, Mike, Mike, Oh ye of little faith. You should join us. It's good in the Nation. The Nation is Good.
