A few folks who obviously have too much time on their hands have asked me about my talk from a few weeks back, Is Christianity Too Political? It's based, very loosely, on the chapter Too Political? from unChristian: What a New Generation Really Thinks about Christianity... and Why It Matters.
If you're curious as to how I deal with the question, you can find the video of the talk here. As always, feedback appreciated.
(Thanks again to Santosh for letting me mess with his community.)

Given that Jesus' messages was a very political message, I wonder if the question shouldn't be, "How are Christians political in damaging ways?" From my perspective it seems as though most Christians on all points on the spectrum spend too much political energy on getting others to behave according to their interpretation of kingdom ethics. Or, perhaps, they are investing in too much political capital to control others themselves. If Jesus' message was truly political, it was in a subversive way, as in, it undermined the current political structures in such a way that called out a unique people of God, a 'holy nation,' to transform culture rather than be subservient to it.
