An evolutionary spin on John 16:12-13...

I still have a lot to teach you;
Things that I have experienced...
Things that I know.
You'll know these things too,
Some day.
But not yet.
You couldn't handle it right now,
And that is perfectly fine.

Start with love.
Just start with love.
The rest will come, as it must,
In time.

I don't think that word means what you think it means. Evolution doesn't favor a direction or virtue, only what repeats. You could forgive the dinosaurs for believing that to evolve meant to grow bigger. (Jesus the grow-bigger?) Of course they evolved into birds. Smaller and they took flight, while cool it doesn't mean evolution favors flight. When you use the term I think you mean progress, but I'm quite sure you don't mean Jesus the "things change and what works and repeats, works and repeats until things change again".

I do like your take on John 16:12-13.
